By Our Reporter

Muslim women from Wakiso district and neighbouring areas have been trained on how to strengthen their marriages, reduce domestic violence, and raise moral children for better families and communities.

The conference, organized by Muslim women leaders of Wakiso Muslim district at The Ryhanah Junior School in Nansana, focused on understanding the causes of domestic violence and finding practical solutions to safeguard families.

Shekat Radyiya Namakula, Candidate for Wakiso Woman MP noted the objective of the training: “We must raise moral children so that we can build good communities where peace and unity prevail.”

Yusuf Lutakome, Director, Ryhanah Junior School Nansana challenged wives to love their husbands wholeheartedly, for families to develop.

“I urge women to pay attention to their husbands, because when you show them respect, they will reward you with love and support,” Lutakome said.

Sheikh Erias Kigozi, Wakiso District Kadhi, urged government to support empowerment programs for Muslim women.

“Believe in yourselves, for that belief can lead you to victory. I also call upon government to support Muslim women, because women are truly the backbone of the nation.”

Sheikh Kigozi also advised parents to guide their children and discourage them from engaging in hate politics, especially as the country moves closer to the 2026 general elections.

The participants were later entertained by guests from Egypt who recited the Holy Qur’an to them, leaving the audience spiritually uplifted.
