Promoting Pure Islam: Mufti Mubaje’s Call for Authentic Propagation

The Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, has emphasized the importance of adhering to the fundamental teachings of Islam when propagating the faith. He urged those engaged in disseminating the message of Islam to remain steadfast in conveying the divine message without blending it with personal opinions or interpretations.
These remarks were part of his address at the annual gathering of Jamatil Tabligh also known as Zikri Kalenge, which translates to “excessive praise of Allah” in Urdu. The event took place at the Markaz headquarters in Kajjansi Town Council, located in Wakiso district on Friday, August 18th, 2023. The gathering attracted Islamic preachers and propagators from various countries, including the UK, Pakistan, Tanzania, Kenya, Somalia, and Uganda among others.
During his insightful discourse, Mufti Mubaje drew from the Holy Quran and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad PBUH. He advised the attendees to engage in deep contemplation, underscoring that effectively guiding others toward the divine message of Islam requires a thorough understanding and a dedicated commitment to the faith.
Mufti Mubaje highlighted the responsibility of every Muslim believer to extend an invitation to humanity to embrace Islam. “It is an obligation to every Muslim believer to call the rest of humanity to join the fold of Islam,” Sheikh Mubaje said. He recounted a significant Hadith involving an encounter between the Archangel Jibril (Gabriel) and Prophet Muhammad. This encounter exemplified the importance of three key aspects for Muslims: deepening their Islamic knowledge, strengthening their inner faith in Allah, and embodying virtuous conduct in their lives.
Concluding his address, Sheikh Mubaje urged Muslim preachers to internalize and uphold the three fundamental aspects highlighted in the Hadith. He positioned these aspects as the bedrock of their efforts to share faith with humanity. Subsequently, he officially inaugurated a team tasked with propagating the message of Islam locally and internationally.
During the event, Hon. Counsel Haj Muhammad Ali Aluma, the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council-UMSC Secretary General, and Sheikh Imran Ssali, the Secretary for Religious Affairs, commended the members of the Jamatil Tabligh Movement for their discipline, humility, commitment to fostering Muslim brotherhood, and their loyalty to UMSC.
Sheikh Hussein Mustafa, speaking on behalf of the movement, expressed gratitude to the Mufti for his unwavering support, which has enabled the effective execution of planned activities across the country. The event was graced by distinguished UMSC officials, including Hon. Katureebe Yaziidi, the Administrative Secretary in charge of Human Resources, Hon. Ondongkara Nasser Musa, the Secretary for Awqaf (endowment), the Kadhis of Masaka and Nakaseke, and Sheikh Farouq Ssendijja, the Kadhi of Entebbe Muslim District, alongside other prominent Sheikhs and Imams.
