Salam Charity has launched the construction of a new classroom block in Lwanyonyi village, Mukono District, aimed at empowering the community through education, skills training, and religious studies.
The facility, once complete, will serve multiple purposes including skilling women and youths, providing space for Qur’an studies and memorization, and acting as a community hall for local gatherings and development meetings.
The groundbreaking ceremony was presided over by Salam Charity’s Country Director, Alhajji Abdussalaam Ali Kinobe, who emphasized the organization’s commitment to uplifting rural communities through education and empowerment.
“This classroom block is not just a building; it is an investment in the future of our children, our women, and our entire community. It will provide skills, knowledge, and a place for unity,” Alhajji Kinobe said during the launch.
The local community was represented by the area Chairman, who welcomed the project and praised Salam Charity for responding to the pressing needs of the people of Lwanyonyi. He pledged the community’s support to ensure the success of the initiative.
Residents expressed excitement, noting that the new facility would not only boost education and skills development but also provide a central meeting place that strengthens community cohesion.
The classroom block is expected to be completed in phases, with Salam Charity calling on partners and well-wishers to support the project for faster implementation.
