Stop complaining, take up political jobs; Muslims told

The deputy resident city commissioner for Masaka city, Ahmed Kateregga Musaazi has advised Muslims to stop complaining about not getting an adequate share of the national cake and compete for political positions.

Addressing Muslims during Eid-al-Adhuha prayers at Masaka golf course, Kateregga said that the only sure way for Muslims to get enough of the national cake is by participating in elective politics and joining the high table of policymakers.

“I can’t emphasize enough the great need of Muslims taking part in politics because the leaders decide which region gets what in sharing of the national budget,” Kateregga said.

Muslims from various mosques in Masaka on Sunday converged at the golf course for the unity Eid-al-Adhuha prayers which the district Amir, Sheikh Abdallah Mutazindwa said is in line with the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

He expressed optimism that the initiative will unite the Muslims in the area, and build a strong voice to advocate for their rights and needs from the central government.

Sheikh Dr Adam Ssenjala who led the prayers warned Muslims against practices that can lead them into shirk (polytheism).
