Victoria Charity builds new Mosque for Namutumba’s Buwaga village

The deputy Mufti, Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa has commissioned a new mosque for Buwaga village in Namutumba district. The new mosque was constructed by the Iganga-based non-governmental organization, Victoria Charity and Development, replacing a smaller one built 96 years ago.

In his speech, Sheikh Waiswa praised the cooperation between the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) and Victoria Charity, which has led to the implementation of various social transformation projects, including mosques, schools, and boreholes for safe water.

He urged the local Muslim population to intensify their devotion to Almighty Allah, emphasizing that neglecting their spiritual obligations could bring divine trials and curses upon them and their children.

Sheikh Waiswa also encouraged the community to contribute personally to the mosque’s upkeep by beautifying its compound with flowers, shelter, and fruit trees. He dedicated special prayers to the founders of the first mosque built in 1956 and called for unity behind the UMSC under Mufti Mubaje’s leadership.
