UMSC picks Nseera as Masaka caretaker Kadhi

The Mufti, Sheikh Shaban Ramathan Mubaje has appointed Sheikh Yasin Nseera as the caretaker Kadhi of Masaka Muslim district, following last week’s defection of Sheikh Badru Wasajja Kiruuta to the rival Kibuli-based Office of the Supreme Mufti.

Nseera took oath of office on Tuesday before the Mufti during a brief ceremony held at the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) headquarters at Old Kampala.

The ceremony was attended by the West Buganda Regional Assistant to the Mufti, Sheikh Juma Mawejje.

Nseera will hold the position until the Masaka district College of Sheikhs convenes and nominates two candidates for the position of substantive Kadhi.
