Mandela Group spreads Eid joy, supports Muslim journalists

Eid is a time of gratitude, unity, and compassion—a moment to reflect on Allah’s blessings and extend kindness to those in need. Through Zakatul-Fitr and Sadaqah, the spirit of giving shines brightest during this sacred occasion.
In the spirit of generosity, Mandela Group of Companies distributed Eid hampers to 50 journalists under the Muslim Journalists Taqaddum Sacco Ltd, ensuring they could celebrate Eid with dignity. The hampers included essential food items such as wheat, rice, cooking oil, sugar, and maize flour, bringing a smile to many families.
Zaidah Ramathan, Vice Chairperson of Muslim Journalists Taqaddum Sacco Ltd, received the donations at Masengere Building in Mengo and expressed deep appreciation. She highlighted the struggles journalists face amid economic hardships, with many media houses barely surviving.
“Many journalists can hardly afford basic needs due to the financial crisis affecting media organizations. Donations like these help them and their families get through tough times,” Zaidah remarked.
Hajji Abbey Mukiibi commended Hajji Omar Mandela, proprietor of Mandela Group of Companies, for the timely support and called on other well-off Muslims to follow his example.
“I urge fellow Muslims who are able to support those struggling to make ends meet. Hajji Mandela is setting a commendable example,” Mukiibi said.
