The National Muslim Youth Council Assembly (NMYCA) has intensified preparations for the 2026 National Muslim Youth Summit, with organisers saying the event will focus on equipping young Muslims with skills for self-reliance, leadership and national development.
The summit, organised under the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC), will be held on October 28–29 at the Old Kampala Senior Secondary School playground under the theme “Youth Empowerment and Skills Development for Self-Sustainability.”
The National Executive Organising Committee met at the UMSC headquarters in Kampala on Tuesday to review preparations, including mobilisation, partnerships, publicity, logistics, security and resource mobilisation ahead of the two-day gathering.
According to the organisers, the summit will provide a platform for young people to access leadership training, entrepreneurship opportunities, vocational skills, career guidance, innovation and networking opportunities aimed at promoting sustainable livelihoods.
The event is expected to bring together thousands of youth from across Uganda, including district and regional youth leaders, Islamic scholars, government representatives, development partners, entrepreneurs and professionals.
Committee chairperson Twaha Uthman Musa Kajaaya said the summit will help strengthen unity among Muslim youth while encouraging innovation, patriotism and community service.
He called on youth, Muslim institutions, stakeholders and development partners to support the initiative, describing it as an investment in the future of young Muslims and Uganda’s development.
“Such platforms are important in preparing young people to become productive members of society through skills development, innovation and leadership,” Kajaaya said.
The organisers said information on registration, exhibition opportunities, sponsorship packages and the full programme will be released through UMSC’s official communication channels ahead of the summit.
