Embrace your new leadership, Mubaje tellss Obongi Muslims

Muslims in the newly created Obongi Muslim District have been urged to embrace their first District Kadhi, Sheikh Juma Adam Sebbi Gimara, who was sworn in during a ceremony held at the Main Mosque in Obongi Town Council on Wednesday. The call was by Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, in a message delivered by Sheikh Imran Abdnoor Ssali, the UMSC Secretary for Religious Affairs.
Sheikh Ssali outlined eight key areas the new leadership should focus on as they commence the administration of Islamic affairs.
These include promoting unity, upholding justice and transparency, investing in education, fostering economic development, being modest and exemplary leaders, strengthening interfaith cooperation, maintaining close relations with government structures, and embracing technology.
“On behalf of the Mufti, I am pleased to declare that the official commencement of the Obongi Muslim District administration, together with the introduction and swearing-in of the first District Kadhi, Sheikh Juma Adam Sebbi Gimara, has been a success,” Sheikh Ssali announced, as the faithful responded with loud chants of “Allahu Akbar!”
Earlier, Sheikh Mahdie Mahmood Raihan, the Regional Assistant to the Mufti, urged the Muslim community in Obongi to respect and support their new leader. He also implored the newly appointed Kadhi to listen to the opinions of his followers.
On his part, Sheikh Juma Adam Sebbi Gimara, whose Oaths of Office were administered by the UMSC Electoral Commission team led by Abubakar Were Wandaghor and the West Nile Regional Commissioner, Hadad Salim, pledged to serve the Muslim community diligently.
Speaking in his native Gimara language, he expressed gratitude to the Mufti and the Obongi Muslim electorate for entrusting him with the office of District Kadhi.
“We beseech Almighty Allah to bless us as we commence the realization of our long-time dream of having our own district,” he remarked shortly after taking the oaths and receiving the instruments of authority, including the official green attire of office from Sheikh Ssali, the chief guest.
SHEIKH ZUBEIR ACHILE SWORN IN AS FIRST KADHI OF BIDI BIDI MUSLIM DISTRICT
A large crowd of Muslim faithful in the newly created Bidi Bidi Muslim District turned up in big numbers on Wednesday, to witness the swearing-in of their first Kadhi, Sheikh Zubeir Achile.
The event, held at Barakala Muslim Primary School in Barakala Town Council, was also superintended by Sheikh Imran Abdunoor Ssali, the UMSC Secretary for Religious Affairs.
In a message delivered by Sheikh Ssali, the Mufti implored area leaders and development partners to work closely with the new Kadhi.
“Progress will only be achieved through cooperation, mutual respect, and collective responsibility,” the Mufti noted.
He further urged the Muslims of Bidi Bidi to strive to make their district a beacon of unity, development, and promotion of Islamic values.
Earlier, Sheikh Ssali handed Sheikh Zubeir Achile the appointment letter signed by the Mufti together with instruments of authority, including the Holy Quran, the UMSC Constitution, and policy documents. He also helped him put on the official green robes of a Kadhi.
The decision to create Bidi Bidi Muslim District was unanimously passed by the Yumbe Muslim District Council, its mother district from which it was curved.
